Dualit is a brand created in 1945. It is a British manufacturer of coffee and tea capsules, kitchen and catering equipment, and is best known for its range of heavy-duty toasters.

Max Gort-Barten created Dualit in 1945 in a garage just off Old Kent Road, and his first product launch was a shaker! Then there was a heater with a dual-function element and a light, called the "dual light heater" from which the company's name was born. He quickly turned to the development of toasters with the aim of creating a product that would make the best toast in the world. His first patented design toasted bread by flipping it using hinged sides, then in 1955, Dualit launched a six-slot toaster with built-in timer, starting the Dualit design philosophy and the foundation of the Vario that we know and love today. The Dualit product family has continued to grow over the years with the introduction of kettles, a food processor, and radios, among others, as well as a constantly expanding collection of commercial appliances. To this day, half of all Dualit products are still purchased by commercial restaurants and hotels, that's how much professional chefs appreciate Dualit products. They are not just four and six-slot toasters. Soup kettles, waffle makers, sandwich toasters, and conveyor toasters are all used in some of the world's most famous restaurants.
